Anyone with an interest in aviation may join the club – initial membership can be either Social or Associate. After one year an Associate Member (not a Social Member) may apply for Full Membership, provided they meet the requirements of a license or ownership of an aircraft or aircraft project.

Please note: Social Members are required to seek permission if they intend to fly as Pilot in Command (PIC) at Serpentine. Any time spent as a Social Member will not contribute to the 12-month requirement for Full Membership.

  1. Gate access to SABC Serpentine Airfield with issue of key or remote opener,
    1. Key may be issued with recommendation by a Full Member for Social members of good standing
  2. Use of SABC Club House and kitchen:
    1. When accompanied by Full Member or Associate Member.
    2. Regular use as desired.
  3. Discounted rate for functions sponsored by Club.
  4. May book clubhouse for private functions by arrangement with committee.
  5. Use of SABC Maintenance Services for aircraft and equipment servicing or repair.
  6. Individual use of SABC Maintenance Hangar and equipment Includes: bender, guillotine, sand blaster, compressor, spark plug tester, parts cleaner.
    1. Excludes use of tool store items and calibrated equipment.
  7. Use of SABC Maintenance tool store and calibrated equipment.
  8. Use of SABC grounds maintenance equipment separate outside of Busy Bee. Note that special equipment needs specific approval including:
    1. All items in WIP Shed
    2. Tractors
    3. Ride on Mower
    4. Slasher
  9. Use to be advised to SABC Maintenance and club members in advance on Grapevine.
  10. Hangar site allocation and ownership/building of approved hangar
  11. Base/Locate a plane at Serpentine airfield in an approved hangar.
  12. Take-off and Landing at SABC Serpentine airfield as PIC or Under Instruction
    1. Prior Permission Required from Committee or delegate for each day of operation.
  13. Use of SABC Aircraft (Piper Warrior VH-DJR)
    1. As Pilot in Command or under flight review with club approved Instructor.
    2. Student under instruction except for ab initio training.
  14. Voting Rights at Club Meetings available to Full Members only.
