Rules
Until early 2018 the club operated under a Constitution and a set of Club Rules. A recent update to the Western Australia Associations Incorporation Act dictated that we update our rules and in the process we renamed our Constitution to "Rules" and our Club Rules became our "By-Laws".

SUBSCRIPTIONS Please refer to the Fees Register for details of subscriptions.
MONTHLY MEETINGS Last Sunday of the Month at Serpentine Airfield - at 2pm
MEMBER PARTICIPATION The members of SABC are responsible for the safe and efficient running of Serpentine Airfield and support by members is vital in carrying out this responsibility. You can help by providing general help at Busy Bees or at other times when the need arises.
BUSY BEES Held on the second Sunday of each month, usually starting about 8am (earlier in the summer months). Times vary so watch the emails list for notification of any changes.
SOCIAL EVENTS These will give you the opportunity to enjoy the club facilities and the company of others who share an interest in aviation. Any ideas/help always welcome.
CLUB AEROPLANE Piper Warrior VH-DJR is available to Associate and Full members who fulfil the requirements. Look at the club website or contact the DJR committee for information. Please contact djr@sabc.org.au if you would like to become an authorised pilot.
USE OF SERPENTINE AIRFIELD
Associate and Full members may fly an aircraft into Serpentine without prior approval. If you wish to keep an aircraft at the airfield for more than 24 hours you will require prior committee approval and could incur a fee. The committee should be contacted if you wish to do this committee@sabc.org.au
Apart from flying days and club events Social Members and all non-members wishing to fly an aircraft into Serpentine must seek approval via the committee. committee@sabc.org.au
FLYING TRAINING Initial pilot licence training is not available at Serpentine Airfield, however, once you have a licence you will be able to do AFR’s and endorsements by organising your own instructor and aircraft. The club aircraft may be used for these.
VEHICLE ACCESS TO THE AIRFIELD The airfield has an electric gate at the entrance. This gate is closed at all times. Members are able to gain either a remote ($50) or a key for $5, for more information please contact secretary@sabc.org.au
HANGARS Membership of the club does not guarantee availability of hangar space or a site to build a new hangar. There are severe constraints on development at the airfield and many members are already waiting for hangar sites.
FULL MEMBERSHIP is required to occupy a hangar site or to have an aircraft approved to be based at Serpentine Airfield or to bring a project onto the airfield. Applications can only be accepted from current Associate Members with at least 12 months associate membership immediately prior to applying. Please note length of time as a Social Member cannot be included in the qualifying period.
APPROVED AIRCRAFT Full members may apply on the relevant form to base an aircraft at Serpentine Airfield. For approval of non-amateur built aircraft, the committee must ensure that at least 60% of the aircraft on the current approved list are Amateur built.
COMPLIANT PROJECTS Full members may bring a project that complies with the club rules to the airfield if hangar space can be found. Please inform the membership registrar if you do this so that an accurate record of projects on the airfield may be maintained.
SABC MAINTENANCE Full and Associate members may utilise the CASA approved facilities (CAR 30) of SABC Maintenance for the completion of certified maintenance, or use the specialised tooling and equipment for their own maintenance or building project requirements. The contact for SABC Maintenance is maintenance@sabc.org.au
