Okay Folks,
As a member of your safety sub-committee, now it's my turn to 'fess up.
Yesterday, I stood an aeroplane on its nose.
Maybe I opened the throttle too quickly. Perhaps I wasn't holding the stick hard against the back stops. Possibly my toes were still slightly on the brakes.
Probably it was a combination of all those things. We'll never know for sure, and it was all over so quickly I really cannot remember all the details.
I guess it just goes to show that there is never room for complacency in any aeroplane, especially a tailwheeler.
Safe flying to you all. See you when I get back in September.
Yours,
Bob Grimstead
